Summer & September Information for Parents and Students

Contact Procedures During Summer:

As Elsi (Mrs. Evans) retired June 30, please contact your ADLC teacher for any question you have.  The new Administrator Debbie (Mrs. Ponich) will be available starting August 26, 2012 for Personal Education Plans, Registrations and program questions, deborah.ponich@blackgold.ca , 780-955-4526.

Report Cards are available on the ADLC website. Use your student’s log on and password, go to Check Your Marks, click on the course name and you will have all of the marks. Print this information to take to your school registration meetings.

Appeal Procedures for Marks-Credits and/or Report Cards: All appeals for marks and credits need to go directly to the ADLC teacher teaching the course. Further questions can go the Administration at ADLC. Ask the teacher or go to the ADLC website to find out the Administrator’s name.

Timetable Changes: All time tables are personal time tables. Completion dates need to be discussed with the teacher or with Debbie, after August 26.

Registration of New Students:

Registrations are by appointment only. Call Debbie, after August 26 at 780-955-4526.

School Start Date for Grades 1 to 12 Students: Tuesday, September 4 (Full Day)

Your personal education plan has organized your personal timetable and work hours for your day and week. The Home-Based School is open, minimum, 8:00 – 4:00, with ½ for lunch (12:15-12:45).

ECS Program(s): Not applicable

School Supply Lists:  Every student has personalized information for their course requirements.

I don’t know if you have seen the new apprenticeship entrance requirements effective August 1, 2012.
Have you??
Industry has suggested, and the Apprenticeship Board has approved, minimum entrance requirements to enter each Alberta-designated trade.
The Board suggests that the “Recommended Paths’ are the best options to help ensure successful careers in the trades for all Alberta apprentices.

Get to Know Your Wild(life) Neighbours - Contest for youth

The 2012 CWF Get to Know Contest is now launched! This is just a friendly reminder to please encourage your students to go outdoors and be inspired by their wild neighbours to create works of art and enter them into our contest. ART! WRITING ! PHOTOS! VIDEO! MUSIC! categories!!

Youth have the opportunity to win great prizes, including having their entry published in the 2013 Get to Know Contest Calendar, the opportunity to attend a week long “Get to Know Art and Nature Camp” and a ton of great prizes from our partners!
